The idea
Most indoor plants only get light from above. The lower leaves sit in shadow, and whatever light reaches the soil goes nowhere. A topping of pale mineral sand reflects sunlight back up into the plant, so it uses more of the light already in the room. On average, plants grow about 30% faster.
The science
Mirasand is high-grade silica sand, 99.75% silicon dioxide, washed clean of organic matter and magnetically separated. We developed it with the Faculty of Science at the University of Ottawa, and it's safe for everything you grow, from a monstera to the basil on your windowsill.
